Teaching Methodology:
My approach is more inductive than deductive, influenced by cognitive theory with a focus on guided discovery techniques. This follows the notion of enabling the learner to recognise the language they need for themselves. It is also my belief that the effective teacher will aim to minimize Teacher Talking Time and maximize Student Talking Time while unobtrusively monitoring their students during the lesson. As well as informant, the teacher will act as a facilitator. In summary, as both a teacher and student of language I firmly believe that the more involved the students are in the lesson, the more likely they are to actively take on board new language points.
